John is the founder of the DLRM Group LLC and directs its investment and asset management efforts. John has a degree in finance from American University, but he spent a lot of time in college learning the real estate business from an extraordinarily successful real estate entrepreneur that would prefer not to have his name listed on any website. John chose to start his institutional experience at Realterm Global because he figured if he could understand on-airport, ground leased assets that are municipally bond financed, other asset classes would seem approachable in comparison. Subsequently, John worked for KB Homes acquiring land in the Washington DC area, which was a focus of national homebuilders during the great recession. As the recession bottomed out, John was fortunate to land a role at Hudson Realty Capital where he was on a team that acquired over $1bn in sub and non-performing loans across all asset classes. John ultimately led the sub and non-performing acquisition efforts at Hudson, and he also started a niche investment strategy that is still a focus of the DLRM Group today.
